Thermostat is one of the first items you need to install on a motorcycle before riding it in the snow. Freezing ambient temperatures plus snow exposure keep the engine from properly warming up, which can cause your EFI to stay in warm-up mode, over fueling the engine, which means making it run like crap, burning way too much gas, and accelerating engine wear or even risking damage.
The thermostat will help the bike heat up to and maintain the temperature you chose. We recommend 90°C / 195°F for 4-stroke motorcycles and 70°C / 160° for 2-stroke motorcycles.
The C3 Powersports universal thermostat kits are designed to fit on almost all motorcycles. You will need to cut the stock radiator hoses to install the housing and bypass line connector. You need to measure your radiator hose in order to select the correct housing. The straight housing will fit almost all motorcycles except if you have a C shape OEM thermostat that you are replacing (You will need a C-Shape if that is the case).
